SCENIC SPOT 2021

Following a comprehensive, technical review by the Selection Committee of the Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards (SCAHSA), Sani Resort has been selected as the Global Low-carbon Ecological Scenic Spot for 2021. Announced and commended at the virtual Awards Ceremony on Oct. 29, the awards were an important part of the 16th Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS 2021) held from Oct. 27 to 29.

The “Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards” (SCAHSA) is the yearly worldwide recognition from the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS), supported by the United Nations Environment Programme. GFHS receives award applications all year round, from cities, towns, scenic spots, communities, buildings, planning and design, green technology, transportation projects and individuals. With a focus on promoting the mission of GFHS and encouraging the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals, the awards have been held successfully for fifteen years with participants on a global scale.

At the forum, Sani Resort Sustainability & CSR Director, Eleni Andreadis, participated as guest speaker. The creator of the award-winning Sani Green and Ikos Green programmes. Eleni is also the author of several environmental books, including the Planet Agents book series, as well as a member of the Greek Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
