A festival that is a story of love for music and the arts, that shaped a path of innovation, quality and high aesthetics. An entrepreneurial initiative that surpassed all expectations to bridge tourism and culture, Sani Festival has forged a path of international recognition and reach, putting Sani Resort and Halkidiki region firmly on the map of the global music scene.
From the first few melodies of Jazz to ring out on the Hill in 1992, Stavros and Niki Andreadis’ musical hopes for Sani Festival were destined to succeed – which is why Sani Festival is one of the country’s foremost cultural institutions - bringing joy from on Sani Hill, where the sea, sky and greenery coexist in harmony, against a backdrop of a medieval tower.
Three decades and 385 concerts, performances, events: Jan Garbarek, Cesaria Evora, Kenny Barron, Ahmad Jamal, Tito Puente, Milva, Hank Jones, Ray Brown, Abbey Lincoln, Charlie Haden, Cassandra Wilson, Yann Tiersen, Lila Downs, Lee Konitz, Paul Bley, Arturo Sandoval, Charles Lloyd, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tord Gustavsen, Lizz Wright, Joss Stone, Daniel Hope, Yaron Herman, Youn Sun Nah, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Brad Mehldau, Esbjorn Svensson, Omar Sosa, Milton Nascimento, Peter Greenaway, Michel Legrand, Branford Marsalis, Richard Galliano, Alison Moyet, Nikos Papazoglou, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Eleni Karaindrou, Alkistis Protopsalti, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Dimitra Galani, George Dalaras, Manolis Mitsias, Stavros Xarchakos, Maria Farantouri, Thanos Mikroutsikos.
Living legends and new creators from around the world, as well as Greek artists, have now been ascending Sani Hill for thirty years – the setting where we congregate for the summer festival, to witness musical genius and experience the soothing ritual of music.
Because just as “jazz is a way of thinking” (Nina Simone), so too is entrepreneurship – breathing live into a vision and creating something unique, that has become a point of reference on the cultural map and a world-class festival of three decades: Sani Festival.
Let us celebrate together!
