A retrospective of three decades of Sani Festival history: its programme and individual artists, concerts and tributes, showcase the entirety of our country’s artistic stock. It is an anniversary show that pays tribute to the full spectrum of domestic music creation of the 20th and 21st centuries, embodying the essence of contemporary Greek culture while at the same time constituting one of the most globally recognisable elements of Greek aesthetics.The repertory activates the senses and memories, evoking a sweet nostalgia for once visited and much loved places. This unique concert will teleport us to the streets of entechni and beyond, with it’s beautiful medley of folk songs, which features creations and songs by the greatest Greek composers, such as Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Vasilis Tsitsanis, Stavros Xarchakos, Manolis Chiotis, Manos Loizos, Dimos Moutsis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Yannis Spanos, Giorgos Zampetas and more, as well as preeminent Greek poets and lyricists, including Odysseas Elytis, George Seferis, Manolis Anagnostakis, Nikos Gatsos, Lina Nikolakopoulou, Alkis Alkaios, Manos Eleftheriou, Lefteris Papadopoulos and others.
